GSPF 2012

Northside Creative is the key supplier of creative direction and graphic design for all the branding requirements of The Gertrude Association and their major event the Gertrude Street Projection Festival.

The Gertrude Association (not for profit) is a volunteer run group dedicated to exhibiting contemporary new media. Since 2008, it has produced outdoor site-specific projection-art events that exhibit professional, emerging and community artists. The Association’s premier event is the annual Gertrude Street Projection Festival. The festival celebrates projection art and lets us see familiar spaces and buildings in new and inspired ways.  It’s a collaborative, volunteer effort of artists and traders, residents and community groups all brought together through the Gertrude Association.

In 2012 The Gertrude Street Projection Festival (GSPF) celebrated its fifth year of staging inner Melbourne’s most visible and accessible free large scale arts festival. For 10 nights in July and in over 20 sites, the length of Gertrude St was illuminated by the visions of talented projections artists for the Gertrude St Projection Festival. Buildings, laneways, footpaths and tree trunks were lit up with site-specific, curated projections on the theme Elements. Projection based workshops, music events and art tours connected and celebrated our diverse community in a free outdoor street gallery.
